1.If I doubleclick on a folder in the scrapcontainer it opens in Windows Explorer. If I doubleclick in xplorer2 it opens in xplorer2
Is this correct?
2. It seems that I do not understand the procedure for finding duplicates.
I put a number of folders in a scrap container. Then I run "duplicates", knowing that there are some, but it seems like the progaram isn't looking inside the folders, since it finds none.
What am I doing wrong?
Yes, you are probably very right. That's why I asked, I thought maybe somebody would be so nice and show the subtetlies I didn't notice to me.
BTW one of the subtetlies is that there is not a section with such a name in my manual (Detecting duplicates). Perhaps you mean Managing Duplicates or I am looking in an older manual?
the duplicates command works with files. You place in a scrap (using any mechanism) all the files you want checked and then you hit "go" (tools | check duplicates)
if you want to check duplicates in particular folders, the easiest way to do it is drag-drop the folders to a scrap window, make it dual (ctrl+O), select all the folders in the left pane, and hit alt+enter: this will flatten all selected folder contents in the right. Then you switch in there and run a check.

Correct, that is the default action. Ctrl-doubleclick or Ctrl-Alt-doubleclick will open the folder in xplorer2. If you make x2 your default folder application (section 9I of the manual), then doubleclicking a scrap pane folder will open the folder in x2 instead of Windows Explorer. A new instance of x2 will open unless you set bSingleWindow (see registry.txt).
