I've tried the methods mentioned with only limited success. At present, I can only have an "xplorer2" item listed in the pop-up menu to open the folder with. And using the last post's recommendations, if I just click on a folder, it opens it in Search mode.
The other thing ... is there a way to open xplorer2 when using the <WindowsKey> E combination?
make explorer2 default instead of windows explorer

Ok ... Figured some of this out ...
I had added xplorer2 to the "Folder" file type. And it just wasn't really working. So I deleted that (in the registry), and added xplorer2 to the "File Folder" file type. Now it works!!!
