Messagebox in 1.2.0.2 does not use the default browser

Post by WimdeLange »

Very useful this reminder to tools that compliment xplorer 2, but when I clicked on a link, it started Internet Explorer instead of FoxFire, which is my default browser.

Not so important, but if it takes not too much time to change this, please do.

both that initial screen and the new quickviewer panel use internet explorer. So in a sense IE was already running. The quickviewer will be used much more but there IE is locked in offline mode so there shouldn't be any security concerns, or let me know!

It is not the security issues that I'm concerned about or the fact that you use IE for this information. I'll like to use FoxFire instead of IE, so when IE "started" when I clicked on the link I was mildly disappointed. But in a few days I'll remove this initial screen (when I happy with all the software that is in there).

What is not clear to me, those filters uses the indexing services from Windows. Must this indexing service be started? Normally I don't use this (it is set to manual) , I don't often search in files and  didn't like the waste of space of the indexes itself. But if this means that I miss this functionality from xplorer2 I'll reconsider.

you don't need the indexing service running
x2 knows how to utilize the filters that have been developed for windows indexing, so it sidesteps it. You only need to install the filters
