Exif information from pictures

Post by mike nardini »

hello   :D
I was looking for a column containing the Exif information "picture dimension" for example 800x600 or 1024x768.
is there a way to show this information in the columns (to order pictures)?

thanks again for this great software

Ps I have just discovered the CTRL+B function.... great, there is alway something to discover with xplorer

if you have XP these columns are already here (use Alt+K to pick them)
for earlier systems have a look at the recommended pixvue extension

Nikos,
thanks for the PixVue suggestion.. very interesting
but unfortunately it doesn't help with image dimensions on Win2k

I'm probably going out of topic... You will excuse me..
but if the image dimensions is part of the Exif data,  this is not retrievable
from xplorer2?
thanks

exif are just pieces of information added to image files
some of those fields hold the dimension
not all pictures have them though, e.g. you copy a bitmap to the clipboard and save it, it won't have any exif data so the said column won't show up anything -- although clearly the image has dimensions! It's just not available to x2 or windows explorer

i'm not sure how you could add exif data yourself and which formats are amenable. For sure digital cameras add exif data
