Folder sorting problem

Post by Zehh »

Hi People,
First of all, congratulations for this product. It's very usefull and well designed. Thank you! (And I will buy the Pro version as soon as possible...)
So, the problem I have is this. If you have folder names with dates at the end, the sorting order will consider the day as the extension, so the sort will be incorrect.
  Example: Folder Names: Inventory_2005.01.21, Inventory_2005.02.15 and Inventory_2005.03.01.
Option at context menu Arrange by Name -> Sort Order = OK
Arrange by Type -> Sort Order = WRONG
I discovered this problem because I use Arrange by Type all the time  (grouping files is better) and the folders always are in the incorrect sort order.
My sugestion is this: Arrange by Type will arrange only files by type, folders will remain sorted by their names. Or  8) make a new feature where the user can choose the sort order manually Arrange by Type and Name and Date for example)
  That's it. Thank you again.

this is sort of  a known issue
have you  tried separating your dates with some other character like ; or ' instead of . ?
