- Use middle wheel button to create tabs when used on the drive letter pane.
- Use middle wheel button on current tab to close it (same as Firefox)

AFAIK, there is not yet a consensus for which of the newer mouse buttons (like mousewheel-click on most wheel mice and side buttons on some 'advanced' mice) to add to x2.
I would prefer mousewheel-click to close a tab (NOT the current d-click)
I see benefit to the firefox "open new tab upon mousewheel-click" on a site; but NOT what happens upon mousewheel-click on a folder: every site in the folder gets a tab opened.
What is needed is a good discussion of the various newer mouse buttons and a consensus on which is worth supporting for what functions.
(So far I only recall disparate requests.)
And all this may have to wait for the hoped-for future major version upgrade which supports user customization of hotkeys & mouse buttons, etc.

Thx fgagnon !
Indeed, a good discussion about that will be the best solution.
In fact, the two changes ain't too difficult to program I think :
- Replace the d-click by the wheel-click to close. (or both)
- Save a click by using the wheel-click instead of clicking the tab button in the toolbar.
Is it possible just to add this ?
When u say "every site in the folder gets a tab opened", this option is great too and already exists in x2 with the folder groups.
Anyway, I can wait for the next release !
