Following are the bugs (observed in Windows NT4, service pack-6):
1. When sharing is removed from logical partitioned D: drive, the new status is not shown despite pressing ctrl+R several times. The new status comes up only when the application is restarted.

2. Once you launch a file/folder copy operation, the application stops other operations (browsing, copying more files, etc.) till the copy operation is over.

3. The application always launches IE with its *default* page. Actually, it should launch IE with the *home* page. (Compare this with the stand-alone version of IE, which will always launch the *home* page; not the *default* page.)

4. While renaming a file/folder, if the name already exists, then the application reverts to the old name, and flashes a error report in the massage line. The renaming effort is lost!! Instead, it should allow remain in edit mode to allow minor changes such as adding a suffix (-1, -2, etc).

5. I use two different user IDs on my machine. I copied the shortcut to desktop as the second user, and then dragged it to the quick launch bar. The problem is- while the icon looks great in the "Change icon" dialog-box, in the launch bar it turns into a predominantly grey-coloured icon, which is practically invisible in the launch bar!   The same, colourful icon should be copied to the launch bar.

Some desirable features:

1. The application does not have a "stay on top" feature. So, when using the drag and drop function, window for the source file has to be manipulated.

2. The right-click context menu should have an additional option "send to desktop" (create a shortcut).

3. The option "open with..." should be available in the right-click menu.

4. If "execute with a single-click" facility is provided, the users will have to do a lot less of clicking!
 * Hover the mouse over an item to select it
 * Click only once to open/execute the selected item
 * The ctrl and shift keys to help in multiple selection.

i have to say that none of the items you mention are bugs, but i'll try to reply

When sharing is removed from logical partitioned D: drive, the new status is not shown despite pressing ctrl+R several times
i take it that you are talking about the tree. There the ctrl+R shortcut has no effect. If you want to refresh a particular node, just collapse & re-expand it's parent (in this case "My computer"). You don't have to restart 2x
The application always launches IE with its *default* page
2x doesn't know anything about IE, it launches it just like any other app. The discrepancy must be down to some secret alliance between IE and the standard explorer which was not disclosed by mikros~1
it should allow remain in edit mode to allow minor changes such as adding a suffix (-1, -2, etc)
that's a good idea! I'll add it
"stay on top" feature. So, when using the drag and drop function, window for the source file has to be manipulated
you don't need stay on top for that. A nice standard "trick" for drag drop is do drag your stuff over the windows taskbar, hover on top of the application button you want to drop, and presto the said window will automatically come upfront
The option "open with..." should be available in the right-click menu
this is the default for windows 2000 onwards. For older windows you need to press Shift while right-clicking

single-click activation has already been added in xplorer²

If you're still looking for a stay-on-top functionality have a look at this great freeware app:

About the "stay-on-top" feature:

When there are several items to drag-and-drop, using the launch bar to activate the 2xexplorer is not convenient:each time you have to have to drag your mouse right across the screen to bottm and up again to the desired pane! It would be much better to size both windows side-by-side and do the dragging rapidly. (Of course, the "stay-on-top" has no better alternative!) )

Thanks, BRX; for the URL for "stay-on-top".

It is a wonderful application, and works with ALL applications. Just loved it! :inlove:
