Hi There,
I had problems with renaming files in xplorer (1.3.0.2 lite, windows XP SP2) and I found this topic telling me renaming is not possible when the name column is not the first column. ctr-F2 does work, right click-rename not.
Is there a fundamental reason why F2 doesn't work? the reason I ask is because I have set the column order to {size - modified - name}. The first two have more or less fixed width, the latest is of course very flexible. Now when I change between one and two panes, in my order the complete file name is shown. If I put {name} first and then the rest, I just have a lot of white space after modified.
So any hope renaming (F2) will be implemented in the near future? Maybe in X2 pro....$$?
Greetings, Wessel

this cannot be helped, ctrl+F2 is your only option for your column arrangement
the pro version has those things called "infobars" that you may find useful. You can place any column in a local status bar (even when not in detailed view mode). You could have a name down there much wider than the name column (so you can keep the main name column narrow)
