I couldn't really think of a better way to put it, but oh well.
I'm wondering if there's anyway that, when I open a folder such as My Documents it will take me to My Documents instead of just opening Lite to it's last opened state.
So the program isn't running, I double-click a folder, and instead of taking me to that folder, it just opens xplorer to whatever state it was in before I closed it.
Other than this I really like the program, it beats the hell out of the default Explorer.
Thanks.
Open to the folder I select?

Yeah well the thing is that I have no experience with modifying the registry, and I feel that if I even tried touching it I would ruin something.
I just realized we may be on a different thought pattern here. I just checked the registry.txt and found the %1 thing under 'how to make xplorer my default explorer'. Well I've already got that figured out without using the registry.
If you really did get what I was saying then oops

Do you mean that when you open x2, you want to open it to a specific folder?
If so, there are two ways to achieve this.
1.
On the shortcut to x2 on the desktop, r-click on the short-cut and go to the properties. In the target field, you should see the path to x2 in quotes. Go to the end of this path and enter the path for each pane. So you should have something like this;
"C:\Program Files\zabkat\xplorer2\xplorer2_UC.exe" c:\ "c:\My Documents and Settings\{USER_ID}\My Documents"
This will make one of the panes start on the C:\ drive and the other in your "My Documents" folder. Have a look at the command line options in the help files.
2.
Another method is to set up x2 as you want it, save the settings, turn off save settings on exit in the options, and restart x2. This will get overidden though by any command line option you may have set, as above.
If you have a number of folders that you want to open up to when x2 starts, then method 1 is your better bet. You will need to create several shortcuts to x2 on your desktop to accomodate the different folders you want to see.

I'll try and convey what I'm saying with an example:
Ok let's say I have a shortcut to My Documents in my quicklaunch. When I click this, it will not take me to My Documents, it will take me to whatever was opened last. The same goes for any folder I try to get into. Clicking it will simply run the program instead of take me to the corresponding shortcut.
If the last thing I opened was my software folder, and I CLOSE the explorer completely. Then later I want to click a shorcut to, say, my music folder, rather than taking me there, it takes me to the software folder.
I tried unchecking "Save program state on exit" but that doesn't work either. It now just takes me to the same folder even if I close the program with a different folder showing.
I hope I'm able to explain myself correctly.

what you are describing is the association of x2 with folder objects. I don't know how you've managed to open x2 (albeit at the wrong folder) but if you don't follow what registry.txt recommends you won't be able to make it work properly. If you don't feel at home changing the registry you shouldn't even try!

Well I decided to be brave and at least check out the registry. I followed everything it said, everything seemed to be in order so I'm not sure what could be wrong.
There is something else though. I was using the folder options rather than the registry to change the default explorer. Your xplorer wasn't the first I tried either; I had others and went through folder options to add them as the default explorer, but none of them were really compitent enough. The problem now is that I can't remove them from the context menu. When I'm in folder options they are all listed, xplorer being default of course, but I can't edit or delete any of the ones I added previously. As far as I know it's no big deal, it's just annoying to see these programs listed that aren't even on my computer anymore, but I don't think it's a hindrance to xplorer's functionality is it?
If there is anything else I can do to the registry that you can think of (though I followed the registry.txt very thoroughly) then I would be fine doing that. Messing with it isn't as complicated as I expected it to be so I will probably be ok.
