I think "collections" would be a great feature for xplorer2. A collection is a folder of items matching the same set of keywords. Here's how I think it should be implemented in xplorer2: When a user creates a new collection in xplorer2, he/she will be asked to assign one or more keywords to this collection. Then xplorer2 will go ahead and search the entire hard drive for files and folders matching these keywords. The search results will then be stored in this newly created collection, so that the user could quickly access them in the future. The files, however, are still physically in their original locations, so a collection is really just a folder containing shortcuts.
I think this is a great solution for desktop searching, because it allows the users to quickly find what they are looking for and be able to store the search results for future reference. This way the users could drop their files anywhere on the hard drive and still be able to organize and categorize them easily.

Hoho, just like Windows Vista's Virtual Folder? Maybe It's a must-be way in future about file managment. Thinking of Tag, Keyword...they are hot words now.
Why not integrate the Scrap Containers into X2 main window instead of a separate container window? You know, virtual folder listed in tree pane in MS Outlook is a good example.
