DLL not found

Post by pinco_pallino »

Greetings!
I'm new to the forums, and almost new to xplorer2 too - started using it a few weeks ago.
I have a small but annoying problem. Evertime I launch xplorer2, I get twice an error message saying that it cannot find a DLL. It is related to the quickstart of OpenOffice Beta, that I have actually removed from the startup menu.
Does anybody know how to solve this problem?
I'm using Win2KProSP4 + various patches.

Thanks in advance!

i've seen that kind of thing before
it's not a dll x2 uses but perhaps something that starts up with it
e.g. check out your context menu extensions
do you get this with other file managers too?

Thanks for the answer.
It happens only with xplorer2.
Where can I find the "context menu extensions"? (sorry if the question sounds dumb, I'm new to xplorer2).

Thanks again.

Had exactly the same problem. Here it could not find the file 'gdiplus.dll' after deactivating 'open office quickstart'.

Remedy was downloading the correct version of file 'gdiplus.dll' and putting that in my winnt\system folder.

after that, problem solved

Oh, 'gdiplus.dll' problem here too.
I have uninistalled OpenOffice 2 beta and the problem has disappeared. We'll see what happens once OO2 final is out.
Anyway, I've quickly read something about the gdiplus, and it seems to be the "culprit" of the jpeg vulnerability that made a lot of rumor some months ago. This makes me hesitant to download and install that dll.
