Uninstalling 2xExplorer--How?

Post by bimrowley »

I downloaded the new program xplorer2 but then could not find 2xExplorer in the Add/Remove Programs section of Windows Control Panel.  How do I remove 2xExplorer if it does not show up as a Program?
Thanks,

Do you mean 2xExplorer or xplorer² (a.k.a.: xplorer2) ?
They are two different products.

The former does not have (or need) an uninstall process other than the user manually deleting the program files from the install directory.

The latter should have been installed from the downloaded setup file and can be uninstalled using add/remove programs from Control Panel.
(You should find xplorer² professional or xplorer² lite towards the bottom of the list of installed programs.)

Thanks for the reply. One more question

Post by bimrowley »

It is 2xExplorer that I am uninstalling because I just installed the new free version xplorer2.
If all I have to do is delete the files, what about the things written to the registry.  Is there a way to clean that up, or is that necessary?

in 2x's installation folder there's a file called install.txt with all the answers you need :)

But why uninstall 2xExplorer?
I have kept mine installed. ... It is everso useful for getting around while making registry tweaks for & updating xplorer2 -- when x2 must be closed for settings to stick. ;)
Much better than winExplorer -- & it takes so little space.  :D
