How to handle Joliet names

Sometimes, while writing CDs, the CD-writer reports "The following files (list follows) do not have unique Joliet names" and aborts the operation.

Question is-

1. Can 2x/x2 edit, re-attach or regenerate the Joliet names?
2. Is there some command to handle such files in bulk?

If not, then which shell extension/utility can I use to restore the Joliet names?
