My scroll wheel (actually, scroll bar on the laptop touchpad) only works in the first tab in xplorer2. I have tried using KatMouse but this has mostly not helped. With KatMouse, the scroll wheel will work in all tabs, but only if xplorer2 does NOT have the focus (is inactive).
I am using a Dell Inspiron 6000, Alps touchpad, Windows Xp Home.
Anybody else experience this and/or have any solution or suggestions?

No, I meant the first tab.
Here is how it behaves, explicitly:
Say I open xplorer2 and it opens in its last state, with 5 tabs and the third one is active. Now if I have the cursor somewhere in the file list area (I am using detail view) and I stroke up or down on the right edge of the touchpad, the file listing scrolls up and down as expected. Note, this is a little different from what I described in my original post. Since then I have noticed that it works properly at first. Say you now click on a tab to the left of the current tab (since first post I noticed that it doesn't have to be first tab, just any tab to left of current tab). Scrolling works correctly here too. Now go back to third tab (click on the third tab), move cursor to the file listing area, scroll no longer works. If you place the cursor outside of the file listing area, it will scroll properly (very annoying - every time you do something in the listing area, you then have to move the cursor out in order to scroll). I have noticed that when it appears to be not working, it is in fact scrolling the (invisible) tab to the left.
Has anybody else seen this behavior? I am using Windows Xp Home, Dell Inspiron 6000.

I see this exact same behavior. That is what brought me to the forums hoping to find an answer. I am running xplorer2 Pro version 1.7.1.2 [Unicode]. I am running on a Dell D600 however it is hooked up to a docking station so I'm using a standard keyboard and mouse. I'm almost certain I've observed the same behavior on my Vista desktop at home. I'll double check tonight.
Oops, I just noticed this message is in the xplorer lite section. I am running the pro version.

is there anyone who doesn't see this problem? For me it's easy to reproduce, just open 2 tabs, click on the second, scroll works, then click on the first, scroll works, then back to the 2nd, scrollwheel doesn't work (actually the first scrolls invisibly!) -- you must get out of the window for the scrolling to work.
But i wonder if this behaviour is only dependent on the software installed for scrollwheel support on my dell laptop
