HI there Nikos, JRZ, and Fgagnon,
I know you three must be tired of answering this question and I've read a few of your thousands of posts and the manual and the docs in the programs folder. THose last two have SO much information they are a bit overwhelming at first.
I have successfully changed my HKEY to make xplorer2 show up and work when I right click. Why would I or others want more? Well, I've developed a habit of hitting win+E for so long that it's like having a wonderful picture with one piece missing for me. What more HKEY mods must I make besides the ones I found below and did
http://docs.geoshell.org/display/R4/Def ... le+Manager
my version of theirs was:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shell]
@="xplorer2"
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shell\xplorer2]
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shell\xplorer2\command]
@="C:\\Program Files\\zabkat\\xplorer2_lite\\xplorer2.exe \"%1\""
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Drive\shell]
@="xplorer2"
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Drive\shell\xplorer2]
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Drive\shell\xplorer2\command]
@="C:\\Program Files\\zabkat\\xplorer2_lite\\xplorer2.exe \"%1\""
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell]
@="xplorer2"
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell\xplorer2]
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell\xplorer2\command]
@="C:\\Program Files\\zabkat\\xplorer2_lite\\xplorer2.exe \"%1\""
by the way, the "" at the end without the space is working just fine.
I've searched a while and can't figure out how to search your site just for "win+E" default for xplorer2 as the results are a grab bag of issues.
Thanks in advance for the sage advice you three post so many many times.
JT
Win+E changed to xplorer2 not windows explorer

WinKey cool
Hi Nikos,
Thanks for the cool app. small enough to not eat up much resources. Just thought there'd be a registry to change.
I lost the ability to change my folders to icons with right clicking/properties and setting an icon. How can I get this feature through xplorer2?
Thanks,
James

There are two problems with Winkey (which I used for years):nikos wrote:looks like this tool can sort you out...
- Copernic has stopped supporting or distributing it; you would have to find a copy on the Web somewhere (or from me if you wish

- It does not override the "standard" Windows shortkeys, which include Win+E, Win+F, Win+R, etc. It will not even let you define shortcuts for them. When I used Winkey I used Win+Shift+E for Xplorer2.
A more powerful alternative, also free, that will allow you to assign to all win key combinations is Hotkeyp.

Thanks, icon solution?
Thanks guys, I'll try them both. What about getting my pictures for folders back when I right click/properties and choose a picture so I can see my frequently used folders faster and easier. For example, I use pictures of a green tree or red disk or audio picture to signify different kinds of folders.
Thanks again,
James

Customize Tab Gone!
Hi Nikos,
Yes, that's how it is supposed to work but the customize tab is GONE! :?
Maybe I messed with in in the registry somehow. I only get a single general tab now on all folders.
Thanks,
James

Lost custom tab
THAnks Nikos for the idea - I always am logged in as administrator and never make other accounts. I tried uninstalling xplorer2 and it still did not work so I reinstalled xplorer2 and still not able to do it. I'll just have to search the microsoft database. I think it happened after I ran a registry tweak that was supposed to make xplorer2 my main squeeze. (not from you - no blame. ) I'll live. THanks anyway.
James

Re: WinKey
I use WinKey to launch xplorer² pro with various dual pane folder groups:MKairys wrote:When I used Winkey I used Win+Shift+E for Xplorer2.
Windows Key+F8
Windows Key+F9
Windows Key+F10
Windows Key+F11
Windows Key+F12
These shortcuts are quite practical.
