Which Packer included?

Post by billou31 »

hello, forum

please do you know which kind of (un-)packer is included in xplorer2-lite?
its a cool thing, you need no ending like rar, zip, etc.

thank you!

i am using win2000 and there must be some packer in cluded, i think:
if you want to pack some files with xplorer2lite (menu: commands -> further information -> pack files) it recommends a file name (bundle) without any compression format! i used (bundle.) zip, rar, tar, 7z, ace, arj, bz2, jar, uue, md5, sfv). with the result of 100% errors.
i let it just be "bundle" without any dot-format, and unpack it with xplorer2lite indeed.

could be a nice tool to exchange some files, but the other end has to have xlorer2lite installed.  :D
know i mean?

the "bundle" in the lite version is not meant for compression but for ADS. See the quickstart guide for more info

there is no compression in Actions | ADS | Bundle to go. The command merely puts all the streams together in a single file (stream) so that streams can survive transportation to something like a USB stick. Only xplorer2 can understand the format to "unbundle" and restore the streams
