Not that it matters, but I'm going to just throw in the reason I voted for keyboard customization, in addition to the excellant post by snakebyte (or I'm copying it... I read it awhile ago)! Keyboard customization isn't something I'll necessarily use everyday, and I don't even think it's the most important thing "for me." The reason I voted for it is because xplorer2 has so many features... so many useful features! So many features that get lost in a mishmash of ctrl-alt-shift, ctrl-shift-grey+, shift-alt-ctrl, etc! With keyboard customization xplorer2 opens itself up to a larger user base. Now people can map those features that they use to make them more accessible and let those features that aren't important to them stay back in the weeds.
I'll be honest, in many ways I would prefer something more flashy or noticeable (the toolbar customization is next!). But, with keyboard customization, xplorer2 will allow itself to grow, and grow, and grow.
That's why I voted for it. So long as there is a way to move keyboard shortcuts to new versions and installs, it'll be great. Thanks nikos, have a happy two weeks

I don't know what "stream search" and "quick find" are, precisely.
But here's my idea. I'd like for xplorer2 to offer an option to maintain a list of all directories on disk, so that I could navigate to any directory instantly simply by typing in any portion of the pathname of the desired directory. Xplorer2 would display all matching pathnames in a list, and the list would narrow down with every keystroke. When the list is sufficiently small I'd just select the desired directory with up and down keys, and press Enter.
It would be great to see a marriage between Locate32 and xplorer2.

Thanks for giving us your extra time chunk! Although I'd like the Folder Statistics, I voted on Robust Delete since I think it's a more solid 'useful' feature - and has a better chance of winning given the previous votes.
If I was able to 'negative vote', I'd say to not waste too much time with 'Keyboard Shortcuts' since (depending on how it's implimented), that feature would be much better controlled via a central application like AutoHotKey or Girder for all programs.
Hence, if you do work on 'keyboard shortcuts', please make this feature 'customizable' - let us map our own shortcuts (or toolbarButtons) to individual features of xplorer2. That way we won't be stuck with shortcut combinations that we don't like or conflict with another application (such as global combinations from the above programs, meaning that Xplorer2 would never even see such shortcuts).
Once again, good idea Nikos! Happy Coding :-)

Come on, we had this discussion before. If this is true then why is it in some ways more limited than the (IMO) true bookmarking system in x2? Make up your mind and merge the two systems or please, pretty please, leave the two systems as is but make the "real" bookmarks more accessible.nikos wrote:the new miniscrap feature added in 1.65 is for unlimited bookmarks.

Custom column
I would like to see you support having an optional custom column to read information out of a descript.ion file, or add a hook for a user-written plug-in to supply custom column information.
My specific problem is I would like to have description tags for AVI files, but the file specification does not support a description. Somehow, Tigo Tago and ABC AVI Tag editor are about to support these tags.
But I would just settle for a framework for custom plug-ins. Given that, I would be happy to write a plug-in and give it to you for free.

Vote for Other
XPlorer2 should maintain its own file association list and support relative paths in the file associations.

Re: Custom column
Programs with good PlugIn frameworks are the best. A PlugIn system for X2 would be spectacular - I'm sure many more people than jcrane2 would be willing to write and share plugins!jcrane2 wrote:...a framework for custom plug-ins.
