Have you tried Menu++ xplorer2 extension?

Can you elaborate on that, please? I'm a FAR Manager convert, but found that address bar and console implementation is a top notch for x2...
I'm using Xplorer2 - the only file manager that does not suck. Actually, it rocks!

I Vote for "other"

1)I would prefer to get rid of forced zip folder integration - that could be good for vast majority, but for those who likes to use for example winrar this is painfully because if you associate zip format with rar in shell it is still opened with zipfolder in xplorer2. This could be fixed in Xp with zip folder service stop, but not in Vista!
2) Nice console - very handy, but type format a: for you diskette :)
3) Quick viewer is indispensable in any file manager, but is it quick for large files in xplorer? When I open large file it is loaded in memory wholly. My suggestion is to make it load pages on demand as it is done in FAR.
4) More friendly ftp management is also welcomed.

But nevertheless this is great job!

I voted for Other - Robust Transfer on same partition and robust delete.

A close second was keyboard customization, but AutoHotKey can be used to alleviate this deficiency to some extent.

Feature for 1.7

I vote for number 6.  I'm one of those that is always adding doodads to toolbar and the lack of custom icons makes it more difficult to identify the right one.

I voted for keyboard customization, for reasons already mentioned by others. Thanks for taking a poll nikos.

Ability to view & search ADS items + one other thing

Post by jjoensuu »

I know I'm alone in this but IMHO it would be great if it was possible to view & search Alternate Data Stream files & folders in xplorer2.

This would be useful because there are no (AFAIK) other GUI utilities that display the contents of ADStreams. Since ADS files may not contain icons, you could display them using an icon with a scarlet 'A', as proposed in this
article titled "The Dark Side of NTFS (Microsoft’s Scarlet Letter)" at infosecwriters website (by H. Carvey)

It would also be useful to have a mechanism to search for ADS files and folders.

The "one other thing" that is referred to in the subject is the ability to disable Windows control of context menus in a directory. The Windows OS
controls what entries are listed in the right-click context menu when a user views the contents of directories such as: "Downloaded Program Files" directory (under "WINDOWS") or the standard "Temporary Internet Files" directory.

It would be great to be able to retain entries such as "Send to" even when viewing directories such as these. This is useful for example when a user wants to send a cookie file to Notepad to view its contents.

My vote is OTHER:

give option to save preferences in a file in the program directory instead of windows register. This will make your program truly portable and usable without administrative rights.... for everyone, everywhere.
register api and .ini api are about the same so should not be so hard to give us that option...

bye
