Install 1.7 but reverts back to 1.6 on exit

I installed 1.7 and launch it after finishing the install.

Upon exiting the app, and restating from the install directory - the previous version is launched (1.6.5.3)? Is this the desired effect?

Nevermind I see that the file name has been changed from xplorer2 to xplorer2_lite and I was hitting the previous version...

I updated from 1.6.5.3 to 1.7.0.5. I just ran the installer and let it install into the default directory. After the install I have the two different versions of xplorer2 exe in my folder. Why did it do this? I would think the new install would install over the older one. Should I just delete the older exe? The new one is called xplorer2_lite and the older one is xplorer2.,

When in doubt, just delete the entire folder and start afresh! (You may move out the x2docs.pdf file first, to save you the bother of downloading again. After creating a new folder and installing x2 there, just move the pdf file in it.)

I do not want to start afresh. I want to retain my settings and configuration. Reading the large help file that was a separate download it says that you simply need to install the new version over the old and your settings will be retained. This is what happened but I have two exe that launch xplorere2 both are different versions. The older exe should have been over written during the update.
