NTUSER.DAT and ntuser.dat.LOG1 won't stay hidden.

Post by Psy »

Sorry to waste your time with this--it's not actually hindering me from using xplorer² in any way; it's just rather annoying.

I'm using Vista, so I generally keep both x² panes at the [username] directory by default. But whenever I make a modification to a file or folder (renaming it, saving it, moving it, etc.), the files NTUSER.DAT and ntuser.dat.LOG1 appear in whichever panes are showing the [username] directory, despite the fact that both files are supposed to be hidden.

Ctrl+R, clicking to another folder and then back to [username], or any other means of refreshing the pane makes them disappear again, but I don't understand why they keep appearing if their Properties say that they're hidden. Is there any way to solve this?

xplorer2 must be getting a refresh event for these files and it is currently disregarding your hidden files policy. I'll have a look

(I take it you have cleared the advanced x2 option to "show hidden files")

Sorry for the (extremely) delayed reply. Yes, "Show Hidden files and folders" is unchecked.

I think what was meant is a fix has been found and will be released in the upcoming new version, for which the Pro version is in beta release.  I expect the bug fixes to trickle into an updated Lite version release some time after the latest Pro beta is declared OK.  As always, the timing for updates is up to nikos.
