new user stupid question: Ctrl-ADD combo?

Post by AEN007 »

Greetings.
I switched from WinEx to 2x last year
for several reasons -
no dual panes & when WinEx crashes
it usually cripples XP too
requiring reboot.
I have just now switched to x² -
one reason being x² has the option
to add the size on disk column!
:D  :)  :D  :)  :D
I am looking forward to getting to know x²
and will be making a follow up posting
at the PCWorld answerline forum
advising of the size on disk column.

My question at the moment is -
which key is the ADD key?
I would like to do Ctrl-ADD,
but I really have no idea &
cannot figure out which key
is the ADD key.

Please reply/advise.
Thank you.
Regards,
AEN

The key you use to 'add' numbers - IOW, the plus key on your numeric keypad.

Greetings.
Thanks for the reply/answer.
I'm now just curious.
Is Grey+ another way to say ADD key?
x² uses Grey terminology in some cases ...

Yes, in fact it is.  The reason being is that sometimes keyboards would also use a different color for the numeric keypad, or at least for the arithmetic functions on the keypad, and hence the term 'gray plus'.

This issue has historical roots. When Nikos was a full-fledged bachelor, he called this key ADD or Gray+, depending on which side of the bed he got off from. Trouble was, as a bachelor, he could get off from both sides.

Now that he has a girlfriend, it's more consistent nowadays.

This is explained in the User Manual, BTW. (but the real reason is not published in it.)
