Hello:
Installed 1.7.1.4 toolbar and it works very nice with IExplorer 7.
When trying to enable it under Maxthon (version 1.6.3 build 80), my prefered browser, it causes undefined fatal error to the Naxthon browser.
Tried to close the options one after one for finding the problematic option but got same result: the browser closes without telling about the error.
Will appreciate any help. I liked very much the options of the toolbar but I need it under Maxthon.
Thank you in advance.
Aaron

Remembering my days as a Maxthon user.... well a MyIE2 user before it changed to Maxthon and lost the plot.... if it's an official IE toolbar and Maxthon's IE toolbar support is working properly, shouldn't it just work?
The latest Maxthon version is 2.1.3 and you're using 1.7.1.4. Maybe time for a Maxthon upgrade? Although I do remember the excitement of tracking down the fresh collection of bugs that goes along with upgrading it.....
Actually it's been so long since I switched to Firefox I'd almost forgotten about Maxthon. Maybe it's time to give it another look....

Ahhh.... I'd forgotten about that. I forgot there were (are?) two different versions of Maxthon being updated.epelman wrote:hello

I tried the version 2... but I do not like it.
anyway: will wait and try again in the future.
Tks.
If I now remember correctly, IE toolbar support had always been a bit hit and miss in the 1.* version, and by the time I gave up on Maxthon the 2.* version's IE toolbar support was still all but non-existent.
What is it about the Maxthon 1.* version that keeps you using it, aside from the fact that the 2.* version isn't everyone's cup of tea?
If there's a particular function feature you need, I could probably tell you how to achieve a similar and better one with Firefox.
The only drag I found when switching to Firefox is that the extra functionality has to be added to it via extensions, whereas with Maxthon it came built in, when it worked. Because of this updating Firefox can cause extensions to stop working and lose you functionality, one of the reasons I'm still using the 2.* version of Firefox rather than the recently released version 3, but it's still capable of having more/better features than Maxthon ever did.
