it's been a while now that the lite version is bundled with the optional search toolbar (by conduit). I'd like to ask you about your experiences to date. Feel free to write your comments below or/and vote in the poll

ok now i think the toolbar has a killer feature. I have added a search terms hilight button which is right next to the search box, which with a single click brings into view the keywords you searched in view (like doing a ctrl+F to search in the page). Google toolbar has a similar thing but adds one button for each keyword and you end up running out of space. Dare I say that the xplorer2 toolbar has actually got a killer feature now? :)

I just saw those droppings and my first reaction was WTF?
I wasn't searching for anything but had highlighted a phrase for deletion in an online survey dialog box and got a string of one-word buttons on the toolbar.  WTF?
But I quickly figured it out.
Cute, clever, even somewhat useful. ;)

Cool for one or two words, but ...
when one highlights a paragraph for moving (or even just reading, for inverse contrast) it's a bit of a surprise to see all those rodent droppings appear for each word. :o
It would be better to consolidate the selected phrase to a single button. [edit/add] The one word per button thing is practically useless for searching: If one wants the next instance of "the red pony" in an article with red barns and apples, and gray, white and brown ponies you certainly don't want to have to troll through every "the" or "red" or "pony".  Better to auto-surround "the whole phrase with quotes" so it remains intact for the on-page search. :o  [/edit]

you can manually enter quotes in such cases, or you would have problems searching for this keyword in the first place

Arthur King,

While the toolbar does not work with the new FireFox v3.1 beta,
it does work with v3.0.6

(I'm using it with FF v3.0.6  on 32-bit XP, 64bit Vista, and now 32-bit Win7);

The messagebox declaration upon trying to install is:
xplorer2 Toolbar 1.5.48.2 could not be installed because it is not compatible with Firefox 3.1b2
[this on win7 beta build 7000]
