Will the 64-bit version of xplorer2 pro be free for Registered users of the 32-bit version?

What's actually involved in the conversion?

Post by pschroeter »

I am just curious what is actually involved in creating a 64 bit version of a program. I'm not a programmer. I thought you only had to take your code and do something like hit a button that compiled it for 64 bit. Are there going to be features in the 64 bit version not in the regular flavor? What's the major advantage?

I only have only a 3.4 gig Pentium 4. Since then I've lost the ability to look at a computer ad on Sunday and tell which computer is faster than the other. I do know my sister's brand new quad-core sure is nice and even seems to run Vista Premium pretty snappy.

the 64 bit will be a free upgrade, since there is next to no functionality added to the program

as to what's the advantage of a 64 bit version, if there is any at all, that's certainly not for speed or anything else.
