I did a search on this, and found many posts describing this problem. However, the threads are all years old, so rather than adding to them, I think I will start a new one, to discuss the problem.
When I connect a Windows Mobile device (Pocket PC or Smartphone) to my PC, with ActiveSync running, there is a device listed in "My Computer" called "Mobile Device". When I double-click on that, I can see (Windows Explorer) all the files on the device, traverse its directory structure, copy and move files between its directories, or between it and the PC, delete files, rename file, etc., etc.
In X2 I also see "Mobile Device", with the same icon, in the left pane. However, when I select it in the left pane, double-click it, whatever, I never see the contents of the mobile device on the right pane.
There are other third-party Explorer replacements, that do show the contents of the Mobile Device connected by ActiveSync. Total Commander, for example. However, I like X2 better than TC, so I was hoping that X2 would add support for these devices.
In a thread I found with search, someone describes this as a "known problem". That was a few years ago. Have the developers tried to fix the problem?
I am no programmer, but I would think that, if ActiveSync makes the contents of the device visible to Explorer, and that X2 still sees the device listed in My Computer, that X2 should be able to read the contents of the device as well.
Any chance this could be fixed soon? (I might even consider buying the Pro version, if you add that capability.
