Uninstalling xplorer^2 toolbar

Post by salimpert »

I do not have a separate entry for the xplorer^2 toolbar in my Add/Remove Programs list.  How do I uninstall the xplorer^2 toolbar?

It's a browser add-on, not an installed program.
So ... from your browser menu ...

in FF -- Tools | Add ons | xplorer2 toolbar > Uninstall

in IE -- Tools | Manage add-ons | Enable or disable add-ons ... [etc]

Thank you very much!  I focused on Add/Remove Programs because that is the removal method specified on the xplorer^2 toolbar web page.  Your suggestion successfully removed it.  Thanks again!

I never thought to check the Add/Remove Programs list, but I do have an entry for it there, too -- although I don't understand why. :?

[running x2Pro v 1.7.2.3 on XP/sp3 with FF v3.0.7 and/or IE v7.0.5730.11]

IE toolbar is uninstalled from control panel too, but for firefox you must uninstall it from the browser. I have reported this inconsistency many times to conduit but somehow they don't get it!

It may not be within Conduit's control.  It may simply be that the browsers handle their add-ons differently.
