Releasing a file after new sort

If I click on a column to do a new sort, is there a way for the cursor to go to the top of the column rather than stay with the file that was selected previously?

Keeping the item which has focus within view after sort is by design.
I am unaware of a setting to change this behavior.
To jump to the top (or bottom) of the list, simply hit Home (or End).
