pasting clipboard
hey nikos,
regarding the naming of x2scrap.png file as default, i reported this to you also.
maybe the new filename for pasted clipboard could be a setting, using X2 tokens, for example could be x2scrap $D.png or something, which could be user definable or set to that as default. would be a nice touch.
sometimes when pasting, i've got a couple to do, and it's a *slight* pain to have to rename the file. mostly i'm not fussed what the file's called, just needs to be pasted...
my 2 pence.
nice release, thanks as always,
Osei

A fault: Yes, definitely.nikos wrote:So it's your fault for not saving with unique names really
My fault? How that? You did never reply on my report on Oct 26th and did not say anywhere, that this should get renamed. Furthermore, generally an application is supposed to make usable proposals, not unusable and - following your words - faulty ones. The only words from you were about an "imperfect world" and that the new pictures overwrite the old ones without warning. (Also to mention here, that with pasting more than one picture in the same folder x2 itself should autorename them, as e.g. IrfanView does. If this, as suggested by several users, would have been done, the actual bug would most probably not be there - without technical difficulties.)
But even if not renaming would be a user's fault: What about the fault of QV showing a content, which is not there. QV is expected to show the actual content, not an non-existing one.

copy image, paste using x2 (note file size of original image)
copy different image, paste in same directory, note image size not changed yet. first image has automatically been overwritten, without a dialog etc
press enter, allowing it to use the same filename.
then after you have to do a manual refresh (ctrl+r), and you'll see the new image etc.
that what you mean Cosmo?

Yes, after ctrl-r the new content gets shown.
But without ctrl-r the old one. Note: You must have opened QV with the first image once. You can close QV or leave it open as wish, you still see after the second pasting the old content (also if you move the focus to another file in the same pane and back to this x2scrap-file), but a double-click on the file (opening the program associated with the file-type) shows you the correct content. So you can see the new and old content of the identical file in the associated program and in x2-QV at the same time with different content!
So following Nikos' words about the fault not to rename there is a double-bug:
At first x2 makes a faulty proposal, at second QV shows something, that is not there.

Skydrive works fine with xplorer2
Yes it does.nikos wrote:...i see from the snapshot that you have skydrive that LIVE thingy shown in xplorer2, does it work with xplorer2?
Nikos also wrote,
I know that, but my toolbar has been this way for many years and I know exactly where the things are. So I have no great need to customize the icons. If that feature had existed many years ago when I set up the toolbar I would have take advantage.do you know you can add custom icons to your custom user commands? See the Organize dialog

send me an email info@ the website name
but i bet what you have done won't integrate with my build tool
i've sent out the necessary files to wepver, i'm not sure if he's working on it... anyway here are the proper files you need with instructions:
www.zabkat.com/x2translate.zip

Sorry for not answering before  . (I was finding my old Visual Studio 6.0 CD. And I am having some personal matters to attend.)
I finally found the required program. Sadly I only had used Visual Basic and long time ago, now I do not remember too much about using it. So I am not sure to be able to accomplish this task properly because I do not really understand all the “translators_readme.txt” information.
If I am not wrong then what I would have to do should be:
1. Rename “kenny_171.rc” to “kenny_esp.rc”
2. Open the new “kenny_esp.rc” and the old one. (The old Spanish translation file)
3. Right click on dialogs and change its properties from English Language to Spanish one.
4. Then I should replace the English captions with the ones of the old “kenny_esp.rc” file, correct the old Spanish translation mistakes and translate the new x2 additions.
…
During the translation, would I have to do something else than change the place of the ampresand character in order to enable its shortcut?
By the way I have realized that there is a new Spanish translation file in the latest x2 Setup, so maybe I do not need to make the Spanish translation by myself. It looks like the old Spanish translation (some of the new x2 implementations do not appear) plus a not quite good translation of the “Robust deletion” module. But it is better than nothing. Thanks very much to the translator.
In my opinion the translation should be:
“You are about to permanently remove X selected item(s)“
“Está a punto de eliminar permanentemente X elemento(s)” instead of
“Eliminación definitiva de X elemento (s)” (Permanent deletion of X item(s))
“Confirm folder junctions”
“Confirmar uniones de carpeta” instead of
“Confirmar uniones” (Confirm junctions. It is quite ambiguous)
“Stop and report any errors”
“Detener y reportar errores” instead of
“Detener y mostrar los errores” (This one is not wrong, but it sounds strange to me)
“Silent operation; no confirmations or error reports”
“Modo silencioso; sin confirmaciones ni informes de error” instead of
“Modo silencioso; la confirmación o no del informe de errores” (Silent mode; the confirmation or not of the errors’s report)
“Keep progress window open after the end of deletion”
“Mantener abierta la ventana de proceso al terminar la eliminación”
“Mantener la ventana abierta al final de la cancelación” (Keep the window open after the end of cancelation)
“Background operation”
“Operar en segundo plano” or just “En segundo plano” instead of
“Operación de fondo”
The robust copy has a new option but it is in Italian not in Spanish
"Replace (overwrite) the entire folder at destination"
"Reemplazar completamente carpetas de destino existentes" instead of
"Sovrascrivi completamente cartelle esistenti"
The program options advanced tap:
"Automatically resize Name column in detailed view"
"Redimensionar automáticamente la columna Nombre en la vista Detallada" instead of
“Cambio automático del tamaño del nombre de la columna en la vista D" (Automatically resize the name of the column in D view)
I will review the translation deeper when I have some more time.
If needed I still could try to do an extra Spanish translation by myself, but not in a short time. I prefer reporting translation bugs.
