Takes forever to access my Network under tree

Post by gthorley »

Am using vs. 1.7.2.7 with Windows 7

When I click on Network to open up and see my other computers it sits and hangs for minutes before showing them. Sometimes it just quits and I have to click again.

In windows explorer it opens up and displays networked computers quickly.

I searched on "network" reading all the topics but didn't see anyone with the same problem. Have checked to make sure  infotips is not checked. Also took the /n out of the program start line.

Anyone have a suggestion as to how to improve this?

You may want to try the Pro version.  It has undergone recent changes which address speed of network folder access and operating with w7.

Not fair!

Hey, Admin!

This is absolutely not fair! it sounds like this: "We provide a crappy program for free, so that you will have to buy a solution that actually works!" Not very nice.

But also Windows Explorer happens to hang on searching the Network. Sometimes, I mean.

Maybe I will try it the pro version but I certainly don't need the features. All I pretty well use this program for instead of Windows explorer is the dual pane. I find moving files around much simpler.

Do I need to remove the free version prior to loading pro?

The pro version is just as slow as the lite version. I would look for other reasons but windows explorer opens the network much faster as do other programs that are saving files.
