Is it possible to get the 'main tree' to stay expanded

Whenever I start the xpl2 application, it divides into 3 panes as I wish; It bugs me, however, that the 'main pane' always has reverted back to showing 'my computer/local disc 'c' only, and NOT where I left it the previous time which is usually some 'double-clicks' and several folders further on.

I'm sure that there is a very simple answer to this, it's just that I can't find it! Can anyone help please?

Tools | Options... | Window | {Tree section} Keep synchronized with folder in active view pane
AND
Tools | Options... | General | Save program state on exit
