MP4 thumbnail and quik view.

I am having trouble with mp4 thumbnails in xplorer2 although all other videos show fiine-.Native Windows explorer of win7 -64 shows them fine but xplorer2 does not and displays the icon only.

Also quickview plays all video files in embeded windows media player fine but for mp4s it dumps the hex text on the screen. I did place *.mp4 in video category in the advanced options>global>filetypes but no change. ( still have not reboot yet though) \

I have looked at the registry and have:

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.mp4\ShellEx\{BB2E617C-0920-11d1-9A0B-00C04FC2D6C1}]
@="{c5a40261-cd64-4ccf-84cb-c394da41d590}"

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.mp4\ShellEx\{E357FCCD-A995-4576-B01F-234630154E96}]
@="{007EFBDF-8A5D-4930-97CC-A4B437CBA777}"

and deleting the second one makes no difference.

Can anyone help me with the mp4 thumbs and fixing quickview to open mp4s in embeded mediaplayer?

Can the quick view be modified to embed kmpllayer insted for videos?

If i go up one level, the a folder icon that has 1 mp4 file in it shows its thumbnail in the middle of the yellow folder fine but once you enter the folder, the mp4 shows only an icon.

In trying to fix this i just screwed up all my icons. They are all the yellow icon instead of the colourful icons they use to be.

it hurts to be stupid.

Finally 4 the record

1-FIXED THE ICONS--SWITCHED ITEM ICON TO NORMAL FROM SIMPLE
2- FIXED THE QUICKVIEW (ADDED MP4 TO VIDEO FILES UNDER ADVANCED OPTIONS>GLOBAL>VIDEO FILE EXTENSIONS

3-STILL NO THUMB FOR MP4 EXCEPT AS PART OF THE FOLDER ICON LOOKING FROM OUTSIDE OF THE FOLDER. !@#$%^!@#$% BTW : byte file size for thumb size is set to 0 ie.. unlimited

How can i get mp4 thumbs? how come Explorer shows them but explorer2 does not.?

4-6 hours later here is the solution for the record

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.mp4\ShellEx\{BB2E617C-0920-11d1-9A0B-00C04FC2D6C1}]

was the problem. That value is for mpgs.

MP4 needs the followig value for that key.

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.mp4\ShellEx\{BB2E617C-0920-11d1-9A0B-00C04FC2D6C1}]
@="{9DBD2C50-62AD-11D0-B806-00C04FD706EC}"
