Just recently started working with xplorer2 but I have noticed an odd thing. When I close the program and go into Task Manager, I see that the program has not quit. Each time I have to kill the process in Task Manager so that it will actually stop.
If I close the program, and then restart it, it does not add another version of itself but rather just continues with the same executable. However, it uses more memory each time I do this.
Clearly this is not respectful behavior - the program should actually shut down once I close it. Any suggestions on how to fix this?
I am running WinXP, SP3. My computer is less than a year old.
Thanks!
Xplorer2 will not shut down

If you chose (upon installation) to use x2 in "explorer replacement mode", use the Tools -> Advanced Options settings editor, and under the Global tab, click "Don't stay resident". (Invoking this settings editor should close all processes automatically first, but if you encounter an error, do so manually.)

Alternatively, you can select "Undo Explorer Replacement" on the normal Options -> Advanced tab.

Actually, it's by design, with the intent to "speed up" opening time, though most processors are strong enough these days to render the benefit negligible.rogueateer wrote:Clearly this is not respectful behavior - the program should actually shut down once I close it.
