xplorer2 has encountered a problem and needs to close

Post by calcuttaman »

Almost every time I click on a mov file explorer encounters a problem and needs to close.  This is only with the quick viewer enabled.

Sometimes it does play it in the quickviewer.

Nearly certain that this is caused by an incompatible shell extension.

See the blog by Nikos on troubleshooting these problems http://forum.zabkat.com/viewtopic.php?t=5778

I think I've figured it out.  I recently installed new software for my canon camera that included a proprietary codec for mov files.  I uninstalled that and everything seems to be working fine.

I also advise you to report this problem to the manufacturer, so it can be avoided in future packages.
