autorefresh in x2

Post by cr00kedview »

is there actually a way to get it to work? or is it just broken/not implemented right, because i coulda swore it worked in a previous build of x2, but has since stopped..

and also, i tried getting flat toolbar by setting bShowToolbar to 3 but that doesn't seem to work either..

maybe i'm missing something.. or maybe i'm just a retard

to change any registry setting you have to quit x2 first
the autorefresh should work automatically; try a reboot!

You need to create a "DWORD" entry in the "MainFrame Settings" in "xplorer2". Just right click on it and modify the value to 3 hex.

thanks for the replies, i got the flat toolbar to work, however autorefresh still doesn't work for me.. i even tried deleting the xplorer2 entry alltogether and just starting fresh, but was still a no-go..

what setting in the registry do i have to change; and what do i set it to for the autorefresh?

if you say that you deleted all the registry key info (did you quit x2 first?) and still didn't get autorefresh, something's seriously wrong. Autorefresh is on by default

1. does your regular explorer autorefresh?
2. is the failure in x2 total or only for some folders?
3. does manual refresh Ctrl+R work?

1.) no it doesn't.. i haven't been able to figure that out for the longest time.. i'll do a clean install of windows, and explorer will autorefresh just fine, but after a while it wont.. 2xExplorer will autorefresh, but explorer and x2 wont

2.) no, for all

3.) yes it does

unfortunately this is a problem with your system
x2 uses a "smarter" autorefresh than 2x which is the same used by explorer
the only thing i could recommend is to do a search in google groups for people that have the same problem -- ideas may come up

yeah i've tried almost everything i've found and thought of and can't seem to get it back to the way it was without doing a format and carefully tracking what i change/install..
