Quick comment:
Am I correct thatthe option to remove a file/folder from the scrap window without effecting the folder/file in its real place is missing?
I think that would be necessary.

Sorry Nikos, my fault not trying before writing. But then it's vice versa.
I judged it from the behaviour of the 2x search results window where the files are actually deleted. And since the context menu showed the del command still next to the copy and move commands (and I presumed for the move command the same effect) I was mislead. But is a "real" del command intended for the scrap window?
BTW, I reproduced my "into hiding" error. Try opening the Ctrl-F10 modeless window for repeating the command line. Then switch with the taskmanager (Alt-Tab) to another application and back. At least on my Win98SE 2Ex "vanishes" as described before.

here's the design "philosophy"
both the tree and scrap panes host loads of files, therefore x2 makes it "harder" for users to really delete things so as to avoid accidents
still it is not impossible to really delete should you wish so. In the tree you can use the context menu, and in the scrap there's a Delete command in the File menu. The shortcut [Del] doesn't work in the tree and in the scrap just removes items from view, as you've seen
> Ctrl-F10 modeless window
i'm sure something's wrong here; this window is not modeless, just a simple dialog. Try using any other program (eg. x2 and display its "about" box) and do this Alt+Tab to see if you have similar problems

I'm using scrap frames more and more (of course).
I have "dual pane" as my default, but the right-hand pane is really my "virtual tree" and the left-pane is where I work on stuff. So I typically drop folders into the right pane or open IDA files, then I flatten them into the left pane.
For that reason the column headings of left and right scrap panes are quite different.
I am beginning to feel that when I am working in the left pane (and put the right pane away with a Ctrl+O), that I would like the CONTENTS of the right pane to still be there when I bring it back again (Ctrl+O).
What do other users think?
Nikos, is this contrary to your view of scrap frames?

Good point... this makes me wonder if x2 will eventually have the "layouts" of 2x from the "View -> Layouts" menu (Ctrl+ 7,8,9) ??
If there were layouts scheduled at some time in the future for x2, and if they were available for scrap frames as well..... that would completely suit (at least) my needs. (In fact it would be a better solution).
