[x2 .37] slower than 2x?

Post by mimeryme »

I notice this to be true when I'm accessing folders w/ a large amount of files of substantial size. My wallpaper folder is a good example.

2x is snappier as I access the directory in comparison to x2. When using x2, I notice the hourglass cursor as opposed to 2x which accesses the folder in the blink of an eye.

Just an FYI, in case, it wasn't noticed.

Also, the x2 "install" was fresh. No registry entry existed prior to me using x2, but I did set the gridlines off by copying the setting in one of 2x's registry entry.

Though I regularly use the Detailed view, this is true for the other view as well.

checkout some previous discussion on this topic
the distributed version is in debug mode that's why it is slow
the "real" version is much faster

 I haven't paid attention to this forum since I've gotten used to 2x and only checked the forums occasionally as x2 alphas are released.

Better do some backtrack reading.

Thanks for the heads up nikos, and of course, for the excellent work you're doing. :D
