Drag and drop on same pane

Post by hayama »

It would be great if x2 ignores when files are dropped on the same pane, like in explorer, instead of popping up a message every time.

Yes, I would also appreciate that, given my fumble-y fingers :)

you can always press [Esc] or r-click to cancel an unwanted drag without getting any error messages

I have absolutely no problems copying,moveing etc.
Do it where it works and suggest ways to improve x2.
I get no error message with x2.

use keyboard modifiers:
Ctrl -> copy
Shift -> move
Ctr+Shift -> shortcut

as you press these you'll see the mouse pointer change as a reminder
or you can drag with the right button and pick a command from a menu

Thanks.Thats a goood tip.
Another tip.
With 2x i made the mistake of copying as a shortcut and saved a bunch of useless files to cd.oops : I guess i got a little sloppy with my mouse.

try dragging the files with the right mouse button, that way a menu pops up with options to copy, move or create shortcuts. I do that all the time.
