Hi,
Today I was using scrap containers after searching for PDFs stored in some folders. Although I was able arrange the results by columns contents, I could not do it by drag an drop in order to fit my needs.
Thanks.

Re: Scrap container suggestion
to rearrange items use ctrl+Shift+up/down keys (is that what you're asking?)

Yep, that was exactly what I was asking for. But, although "ctrl+Shift+up/down keys" does the job, is not more common nowadays to do it with the mouse? Just saying...

Yes it is, but Nikos just can't bring himself to modernise; it gives him nightmares.sanferno wrote:is not more common nowadays to do it with the mouse? Just saying...
That being said, since the resulting "new order" is not permanent anyway (in scrap containers or normal panes), it's a function that probably isn't used extensively very often.

look, i may do something about that for the next version, you could have custom folder settings that include (large icon) positions

Cool your horses, boss-man, I was just being flippant.
Our Spaniard friend probably didn't even know that that functionality was available in normal panes as well as scrap, so you're already ahead of the game.
It would be nice to have it mouse-oriented though, but again how many people regularly use such an ephemeral function?

Re: Scrap container suggestion
As far as I can remember, since the 30th of November of 2013 that I bought x2, this might have been the first time I have needed it. So it is true that I have not known of it till yesterday (normal and scrap panes).
So Nikos, I have just transmitted to you my thought about mouse and "ctrk+shift+up/down", now you feel free to develop it or not.

there are other people that nag me from time to time about a "windows XP desktop icon mode" so you are not the only one!

Nag nag nag... remember, if you give them a "windows XP desktop icon mode" they'll then nag you about making it static (per folder) and not volatile, and you know it. What would the Maginoit Line be for Spaniards, we wonder?

I am not nagging you, chill out Billy boy!nikos wrote:there are other people that nag me from time to time about a "windows XP desktop icon mode" so you are not the only one!
As I have said before, I suggest the idea, I am not imposing it. You are the one who takes the choice according to different aspects that you know better than I do: the time to implement it, the consequences, the usability, or whatever.
I understand that it is difficult to keep everyone happy, but I assure you that I will continue in good attitude, whether you decide to do it or not

ANY Organize dialog can benefit from mouse D&D instead of the insipid press-this-silly-icon-to-move-the-item-one-step-at-a-time method that was vogue in 1998.
