Keeps going to the desktop

So there's this very weird thing in Xplorer where if I have a list of folders and I type the first letter of a folder name that I want to go to and hit ENTER, it jumps to the desktop instead of opening the folder and gives me a windows audible sound. To get it to open the folder, I have to type in the first letter and then wait about two whole seconds to hit enter and only then it will open the folder.

One more thing, after it brings me to the desktop, if I click the Forward button on my mouse several times it will take me to the folder that I was trying to open. It's as if upon hitting the enter key the program decided to back up all the way to the root directory.

Please help.

Figured it out.

Problem was that I had the "ESC" key binded to "Up a level". Took me hours to solve it.

Edit: Turns out you CANNOT bind the ESC key to anything or it will do this exact same thing.
