Just now the search box in the upper right which says "Filter" in grey letters started stealing focus. In many years of use I've never seen this happen. This is on a fresh install on a brand new hard drive.
BEFORE: To move the highlight to the next item in a folder that begins with any given letter you type that letter. You can keep doing this as many times as you want e.g. when you don't feel like using arrow keys and/or the list isn't sorted by name.
NOW: After you do this four time in a row with a given letter the search (filter) box steals focus and the letter suddenly appears four times in a row, e.g. nnnn
PS the Before state was in fact always glitchy, sometimes after typing a letter a few times it would just plain freeze and the 'jump' function wouldn't work until you hit Esc or move around with the arrow but that is a completely different problem that I have always lived with. I think I posted about it a long time ago.
