a few bugs fixed and few things added
* editor² build 2971 adds automatically managed frequent document list in FILE menu
* when switching to single pane mode, all tabs from old (closed) pane are saved, so you can restore them when you turn dual pane mode back on.
use HELP > CHECK FOR UPDATES menu command to update your version
it looks like
SmartScreen has finally trusted my signature so you shouldn't see any scary messages during installation (?)

The Ultimate installer seems to have lost its Unicode on Windows 10.
Screenshot
xplorer² itself is unaffected.

the installer isn't Unicode but that's the first time I've seen the question marks (instead of the exponent ²) in a "western" locale
did you do anything fancy with your language settings?

Hi Nikos,
Yes, xplorer² works fine, the issue is just with the installer which, other than that, is good too.
I don't think I have done anything else fancy with my language settings, other than the Unicode option enabled and that I have the English (Ireland) / Spanish (Spain) language packages installed.
Have you been able to reproduce the issue?

Not in the past few decades. I usually stick to the operating system's default, except some keyboard settings.

Yes, I have. But I'm not even sure if I enabled that manually.
