In mass rename preview, all selected files are shown under both "old name" and "new name" though some filenames are unaffected and names will not change.
Is it possible to add an option to leave the "new name" preview blank for files that will not change?

Re: Mass rename preview when filename unchanged
that could be misconstrued as the filename being wiped out

Can you change the colour of the text and/or background to indicate files that will not change?

Re: Mass rename preview when filename unchanged
During a mass rename, when the filename remains unchanged, the preview should clearly indicate no modifications. This helps users quickly identify which files will retain their original names. Such a feature prevents unintended changes and ensures accuracy in batch processes. It offers peace of mind by confirming that only the desired files are altered.

Re: Mass rename preview when filename unchanged
@nikos also am having some odd cosmetic behavior with mass rename. No big deal just a little frustrating at times.
1. Enter criteria for mass rename, sometimes preview pane populates automatically, other times must click preview button
2. Either way, with preview of rename on display in lower pane (no rename done yet), I make adjustments to rename criteria. Preview pane adjusts its displayed result automatically. I click rename, and sometimes am greeted with (paraphrase) "are you sure you want to rename without previewing" message.
Could these be addressed when next revisiting the preview pane?

to make sure you don't get the warning, click on preview button yourself
apart from the preview it flags out possible error situations

Re: Mass rename preview when filename unchanged
Yes I understand that, what I am saying is, since the pane adjusts automatically to what is being typed, why have to keep pressing the preview button over and over anyway without any change to the preview pane? If there is an error why not just show it. Or don't adjust the preview pane to the typing and force clicking of the preview button. Just asking for some consistency here. Sometimes have to click on preview button, sometimes don't. I don't know why it is inconsistent.
