Résolution columns are empty
Hi,
On jpg files windows "properties" show "Résolution horizontale" and "Résolution verticale" (french interface)
I can add these 2 columns in X2 but they stay empty.
I am using X2 6.0.0.3 ULT x64 14/07/2024 with windows 10
In case you need more info I will be pleased to answer.

Re: Résolution columns are empty
are these photos corrupted perhaps? Do you see their dimensions in their property page? (right click -> PROPERTIES menu)

Re: Résolution columns are empty
The resolution of 800 ppp is well diplayed in "property" see attached screen shot
The solution is a minor point for my purpose, it is just an information to make x2 better than best

Re: Résolution columns are empty
lost in translation... is this "resolution horizontale" the stock property or is it a system property?
check if it has an [S] after its name in column selection dialog (ALT+K keys)
on my xplorer2 both these columns work the same

Re: Résolution columns are empty
try using those with [S] after their name, they should be near the top of the column list

Re: Résolution columns are empty
Largeur [S] / Hauteur [S]
(Hauteur really does have the best etymology, féminin, and no mistake .
)
The "résolution" columns would be the equivalent of DPI or ppi = pixels per inch = pixels par pouce = ppp. Not stock information for photos... probably filled in by cameras, software, etc. (Most of mine are "empty" as well.) Curious that it shows up in properties, though...
Yeah, I found one...

...and yet x2's "Horizontal resolution" remains stubbornly unpopulated.
Here's a link to the photo in question, nikos, in case you want to practice your Photoshop CS6 property extraction skills. Or, failing that, starting your own clothing line...

Re: Résolution columns are empty
Yes, they work in explorer (the screenshot above is from the properties page in right-click x2), but yes, the columns in explorer display "240 dpi" as expected (and indeed, for png's as well), while x2 is blank. And no, I have no photo-oriented shell extensions installed, just normal default Win10 nonsense.
That's probably why I supplied the file, so you yourself could face your morning coffee demons without making us poor monkeys dance for our bananas.
(And to give you some sewing inspiration for that exciting new line of bespoke multicultural pyjamas you keep hinting at.

Don't display here either in x² (v5.5.0.1) - blank!
Another file manager displays them - Vertical resolution 96dpi, Horizontal resolution 96dpi (my files).
Perhaps you should take up Kilmatead's suggestion and design your own clothing

Re: Résolution columns are empty
indeed they work in windows explorer!?
I will look into it
however, images have PIXEL size, DPI depends on the monitor. The first is absolute, the latter is relative

Re: Résolution columns are empty
Well, yeah, DPI only has meaning as a printing/display directive and can be arbitrarily set... but that doesn't negate the practical purpose of being able to display it (especially if other programmes do). I don't think the properties page is automagically conjuring it in real time, although that would be fun as yet another plugin-style joke-column...
...along the same lines as if a tree falls in a forest... does information have meaning even if it can't be displayed?
But we digress. I'm thinking some kind of samurai-inspired bath-robe for my pyjamas, not one of those tasteless Yakuza things with dragons and naked chicks swimming in back-lit nighttime pools. Maybe with a Prussian Blue highlight on the slightly-winged over-mantel shoulders? Since you're accepting pre-orders... gotta get in early...
And when you said:
...were you just hoping that was true, or was it some kind of made-up empirical thing where us country-folk shouldn't make a fuss? These city-tailors, such haughty minds... geddit? Hauteur [S]? Told ya the etymology was trippin'...nikos wrote: on my xplorer2 both these columns work the same
