beta version 6.007

Post by nikos »

let's see how many bugs you'll find!
https://www.zabkat.com/test/xplorer2_se ... t_beta.exe

summary of additions:
GOTO > SAME STYLE mirror browsing style to inactive pane

portable USB setup hidden command 33553 (through finder)
files created in subfolder X2PORTABLE, must be removable drive

[P] dual bookmarks can optionally save tabsets (use instead of saving layouts)

the last (non-default) layout will be used when x2 restarts, even without /S

[P] bakup dialog, use queue assumed, allows filter
filter cannot be changed only what defined in F5
equivalent options: OVERWRINEWER, LOWPRI, IGNOREDST, QUEUE

context menu in deep paths works (1 item selected) for w10+
not all commands work eg SENDTO

infotips work deep

OPEN WITH toolbar button (only if 1 item selected)
same as context menu, easier access
must customize toolbar to find new button

[P] TOOLS > EXTRACT GROUPS in scrap can also do HARD links (same partition)

smarter 48x48 toolbar skin for huge DPI

command finder for cmdids (decimal) useful for old macros

free space for phones TOOLS menu

minidrivebar (hamburger) also shows connected phones (alt+f1)

d-click to show all files (if filter leads to empty pane)

MGAO3_NOTASKBAR (128) disable taskbar button progress/frequent functionality

MGAO3_CASEREGEXP (256) makes wildcard & mass rename regular expressions case sensitive
case sensitive will catch LESS filenames, exceptional use only

MGAO3_ROOTDIRSIZE (512) get folder sizes everywhere, including roots & networks
don't blame me if santa thread gets stuck

[P] similar pics >=90 less false positives

TIME programmable function

[P] mass rename
remove any newlines in text
preview yellow bg if no changes
remove diacritics (accents) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Combining ... ical_Marks
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zIo5PSSo1ac&t=121s prisoner

tip 126b

Ok, I give up... why is Herbie Hancock in the changelog?

And (since it doesn't work on the release version either) I'm guessing that Height [S] and Width [S} are not intended to work on phones? (Given that you corrected the errant Résolution columns, I was curious... phone freespace works...)

As an aside, I've been modifying the resources of x2 for so long that I've forgotten what all your original icons looked like... saw the status-bar's "hidden-files obscured" icon and thought aliens had landed... weird.

Nothing broken yet... early days... but... I mean, I can be as groovy as Scooby Doo on a Thursday morning, but Herbie? Is Bootsy Collins next? What happened to your Abercrombie obsession?

hancock is there to demonstrate the kind of underlines in names that exist and mass rename now removes
photo dimensions won't work in phones, but they should work for normal folders, no?

Sure, they work fine otherwise... (I would have screamed a lot louder if they didn't.) Considering I didn't even know Tools -> Free Space was "a thing" I just rely upon "This PC" for that - pity it only shows up for phones when you hit the "Generic Hierarchical" type-layer. Just sayin'. Which, come to think of it, it already does in the current version...

Wake me up when the filtering can remove ads from youtube (i didn't even notice the underlines at first such was my bewilderment at time travel. Sounds like the sound track of every 70's American Cop show.)

Interestingly enough it does actually (in this beta), except it just says "39GB", it does not say "free" as a normal report, nor does it include the percentage - so it looks a bit weird, just a lonely number sitting around waiting for a qualifier to ask it out on a date, to add context to an otherwise sad perspective. Hey, being a number is hard. Algebra was their true Martin Luther moment of recognition.

Come to think of it, while it's all very nice to have phones on the "minidrivebar" (never knew it existed), why not the main drive bar? That's the one of immediate value.

Nyet! Нет! Non! As usual I'm right and you're wrong, Mon capitaine lunkhead! This is what it looks like (in the beta) for phone-browsing, replete with landing alien spacecraft!

Image

If I was browsing a normal device, it would have the usual "...free (21%)" suffixed on.

The Items count bug from 6.0003 is still there.

To see this, go to advanced settings and enable:

Show ..UPDIR (parent) item in filesystem folders

after you've done this, the x items(s) info in the status bar will count the ".." entry, so counting one item too many.

If there are two files in the current pane, it will say "3 item(s)"

you can see it either way, since the up-dir item exists, it is counted
when you do any file operation on all items, .. is unselected automatically
