Addl- In X2 options I have subfolder size - yes, but I dont see any option "Get folder sizes everywhere". Where is this exactly?

Tools -> Advanced Options -> "Global" tab -> "General" Extra Options -> Get Folder Sizes everywhere even for roots & networks

To clarify (for Nikos in case the above option doesn't help), the S:\ locations above are local and they work fine - what is missing is any reference at all to his network drive, T:\

what if you disable kilmatead's plugin, do you see (slow) folder sizes in T:?

Part of the issue is that this plugin doesnt seem to be mapped to the remote folder at all. I copied the log a few times and there is nothing related to the remote folder (T). The 4kb size indicated seems to be just a placeholder data point.

X2 doesnt fetch folder sizes on network drives with or without the SizesES plugin, Everything Search on or off, fast networks disabled or enabled. X2 has similar issues displaying folder size on local networked shared drives also. It will manually fetch the folder size, but I've seen it revert back to displaying 4k etc sizes after entering and exiting a folder.

first of all, you have "faster networks" ON (https://ptpimg.me/tq5c05.png) but I don't think it is the problem.
some linux-based drives report a "folder size" (4KB usually) which xplorer2 considers a calculated folder size, therefore it doesn't bother to recalculate it. Have you tried TOOLS > FOLDER STATISTICS menu?

(in other words, even if you disable xplorer2 folder sizes altogether, you should see the same 4KB "sizes", no?)

ps. your video shows a very thin column of something to the left. Is this something you did intentionally? Looks like a crumped tree... or is it the miniscrap?

- ans - In reference to the faster networks screenshot, I didnt make a mistake. The top portion data represented the X2, ES, and SizesES settings when I first noticed the network drives were not represented by size properly. Since I didnt even know about the faster networks setting before it was suggested I enable it, it was obviously off so I didnt include a screenshot for it.

Following the suggestion, I tried Folder Statistics and it proves X2 is capable of showing the correct remote folder size if it is directed to.

The point of using X2 show subfolder size, get folder sizes everywhere even networks, and SizesES with EverythingSearch is so I can immediately see correct folder sizes for any and all of my folders local and remote since Windows has never bothered to implement this functionality. I reported that X2 was not doing this for remote folders because I thought it was a bug; I didnt know it was just not deemed important to implement. Although X2 Folder Statistics works properly, I obviously wont be using it regularly since I would have to press it 100x times a day to see the data that should be automatic. There is also now a reduced need to utilize EverythingSearch with SizesES plugin; ES does show the correct folder sizes for local and remote drives, but SizesEs won't show remote folder sizes if X2 doesnt provide implementation to do so.

Do you still see 4KB sizes for the folders under T: drive?
this would mean that your filesystem on T is wrongly reporting fake file sizes and confuses xplorer2

Thank you for your testing and patience. I was previously unaware that x2 had internal rules about conditionally sending the plugin a folderpath - Nikos neglected to mention that detail to me. I should also add the "Get folder sizes everywhere" setting to the ReadMe file - it escaped my notice in the x2 changelogs when it was added.

I did look at the code and couldn't see anything...

One of these days he'll actually believe us little people when we tell him his cosmology might be flawed.

With this plugin's new capability of being able to bring most ES column data into x2, I'm hoping to be able to increase overall performance within large media folders. Out of the columns I use within x2, I notice 3 bad slow/stall/lag/freeze points that take much time populating:
File icons included within Name column, Length column, and Frame height column.
I successfully got Name.ES and Height.ES columns into x2 from ES and they show the correct data. Unfortunately there's some kind of data conversion problem with the Length.ES column into x2 from ES.
I have a screenshot showing the differences and I'm hoping it's possible to correctly show the Length.ES column in x2 and that it's not too much of a hassle to hopefully correct.
Thank you very much for this plugin because it's looking extremely promising for increasing the browsing/scrolling performance within x2.

Thank you for trying out the new feature, it's experimental, but improving. There will be an update soon which fixes the Length issue, my original approach just exported the raw data of a limited set of properties (mainly just to prove I could do it), and numbers like that aren't especially useful to humans.

Incidentally, believe it or not, it's the video-length expressed in 100-nanosecond intervals (or, "hectonanoseconds"). A nano-second is a billionth of a second, for those not versed in prefixes. So it's accurate... just not practical! Windows is a strange world under the bonnet.

I'm surprised that the Name column exhibited latency? That's weird, I reckoned those columns would be the least useful. I can't do much with icons though... that's entirely x2's purview.

Anyway, expect an update today or tomorrow for bigger better badder world-dominating peasant-trembling virgin-violating mind-blowing madness (and improvements).

Added: Any property from Everything Search may now be imported (previously it was limited to only a practical subset due to data-type limitations)
	- Any number of columns may be declared in the INI (not just the 10 slots provided by default), keynames must be numerically contiguous
	- Properties render using ES formatting with the caveat of being textual columns, so suffer the usual restrictions (no "true" searching/sorting/justifying)
	- Defining "raw:" removes formatting and returns the data-type verbatim, adjusting the column-type as needed (not all properties unavailable)

Added: Improved column/property array scaling (if you were to lose control over your mental faculties you could have all 400 columns co-extant without memory penalty)
Added: Reparse-Tree folder-caching removes the latency incurred from re-checking previously browsed branches known to have no links
	- INI option: ReparseTreeCacheSize[=500], the number of paths to track in a circular buffer (set to 0 to disable entirely)
	- The above setting replaces the previous SizesIncludeReparseTree option
	- If a new reparse-point is created or found in a previously cached location, any associated paths are removed from the cache allowing the size to report correctly
	- When both 'Attributes' and 'Reparse Target' properties are indexed within Everything Search, the Reparse-Tree is automatically used (disabled otherwise)

Added: INI option: IndicateNullText[="\x00B7"] to distinguish a blank/empty string value from an unused property - by default: bullet point '·'; use "" to disable
Added: Escape-prefix ('\') for quotation marks, forward/back-slashes, spaces, and inserting 4-digit hex character sequences (\xhhhh)

Fixed: Latency on custom property queries reduced from ~10ms to ~1-3ms
Fixed: Filtering file-extensions for custom-columns was "off with the faeries" (indeterminate matching, limited extension-length buffer, etc)

If you have previously defined any "Custom" columns (or changed default settings) in your current ES.INI file, be warned that this version will rewrite it, so make a backup first. Apologies for the inconvenience, but changes must.

@ N1ck1, when you define the "Length" column you will get (by default) the formatting from ES (if the time is under an hour only minutes and seconds are shown) - if you add "alt:" to the Length declaration in the INI you will get a mimic of the x2 style (all 6 digits). Your choice. Like all columns it is left-aspect-justified only, so the irregular length of the ES style may be odd to read. Complain to Nikos. Loudly. Vociferously. Plead with him. Bribe him. Threaten his soul's eternal equilibrium. Unfortunately, I can't do anything about it myself (I threaten his soul's eternal equilibrium every day and he just laughs at my taunts, dismissing my all too human desperation like a wisp of wind in the fog of life).

For those souls curious about precise timing logs of plugin activities (to test the latency of reading ES data as you browse around the file-system in real-time), the download also includes a debug version which will write a log with enough boring text to put any healthy gerbil to sleep in record time. All times are in microseconds (μs), so if you see something like 1465μs that represents around 1.5 milliseconds in gerbil-speak. Make of this anorak-indulgence what you will. Personally, I love this sh*t.
