This was asked back in 2005 but did not get a satisfactory answer. I've never seen tabs in any past releases of xplorer2. If they were there I somehow missed them. In all the versions that I've used, when I clicked on an item in the folder tree, it immediately displayed the contents of that item in the active pane. Now when I click on an item in the folder tree, nothing happens in the active unless I double click on the item in the folder. This is very annoying. When I change to a new item in the folder tree, I want to see the contents of that item in the active pane. This problem may just be because I missed something when I set up the options.
I'm running xplorer2 on a Lenovo laptop running the latest version of Windows 11 Pro.

Re: disable tabs
check your folder tree options (TOOLS > OPTIONS menu), "single click activation" should be enabled
