Do you know how to get to xplorer2 from here?
Can't.
Do you know how to get to iDeClone from here?
Can't.
Do you know how to get to DeskRule from here?
Can't.
Links are marvelous inventions. Maybe use that little Quick Links hamburger thingy to put links to YOUR INCOME-PRODUCING PRODUCTS THERE.
I'm almost embarrassed to recommend your software because finding the websites are so difficult. Are you in witness-protection so everything has be be hidden?
Come on Nikos. Link to your software so people can find it and <gasp> buy it!

Re: QUICK LINKS, WHAT A CONCEPT
Then there's that other thing called MAINTENANCE!
The one link you have that actually goes anywhere on your "Company" page on ZABKAT, goes to a page on DOWNLOAD.COM that has xplorer2 Lite version 4.2.0.1.
Are you trying to drive customers away, thinking your software hasn't been supported since 2019?
K, you try to talk some sense into his Greek head.....

Re: QUICK LINKS, WHAT A CONCEPT
Nikos,
I've been here for 19 years, I know where ZABKAT is.
Show me how to get from here to there somewhere on this website without digging through forum entries. Maybe, like in Quick Links as an example.
Even the top of the forum where you have a ZABKAT banner doesn't take you to ZABKAT. That's a change even I could make.
As far as your ZABKAT website, no one will ever know about iDeClone or DeskRule unless they scroll to the very bottom of the website, about 3 screens down.
If it's not on the first screen, people won't see it. That's rule #1 for SEO's.
Finally, from the ZABKAT/Support page there's a line to get to the forum. But again, no link on the forum to get back to ZABKAT.
This is just suggestions to help. You've ignored it before. I guess you can do so again.

Re: QUICK LINKS, WHAT A CONCEPT
While I generally detest the whole SEO industry, I have to agree 100% with everything pj mentions. I've been frustrated numerous times at the inability to navigate from the forums to the main zabkaterina site unless I am in some very specific forum threads (thankfully, blog posts discussions are relatively frequent and easy to find, so that helps - but that is because *I* know that).
A (preferably globally) pinned topic with links for the zabkat and iDeclone and Deskrule webpages is a good idea, so that that post is available in all the relevant places. A further restructuring of these forums might be beneficial, with a "Software' *category* that houses the X²/2Xplorer, Deskrule and iDeclone (sub)categories, and then you can have one post with the links pinned in all subforums of that software category, so it is at the top of every sub-forum as a pinned post, even locked so no one can comment on it.
It's not only a traditional way to use pinned posts, but also a good way to keep links relevant - and if you get another wild hair and decide to create a new piece of software that I end up buying, it will be relatively easy to find because you edit that one post and add the new link and whatever info you want and then it is there for everyone to see.

Re: QUICK LINKS, WHAT A CONCEPT
I bet you that wherever I put a "cross link" to the main website, people won't find it. Not any faster than using google anyway.
pj gets into a negative nancy mode from time to time, so I thought I'd add the main website to the quick links to calm him down
however it is a hell of a mess and doesn't survive forum upgrades:
https://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtop ... p=15776271
does our forum guru tuxman know of a better solution?

Re: QUICK LINKS, WHAT A CONCEPT
Just change the link on the Big Beautiful Banner from "forum.zabkat.com" to "zabkat.com".
How many programmers does it take to change a banner link?
More than on the staff of Zabkat.....

Re: QUICK LINKS, WHAT A CONCEPT
This "negative nancy" has tried repeatedly over way too many years to get xplorer2 more traffic, thus more revenue because:nikos wrote: 2025 Oct 09, 07:51 ...

...
- I like xplorer2, despite it's warts
- I want lots of revenue to flow to Nikos for it.
- I want Nikos to be wildly successful with it so he continues to support/improve it.
- I guess that's being just plain negative after all..... BAH, HUMBUG!

Re: QUICK LINKS, WHAT A CONCEPT
Note that the "Quick links" are not added by Nikos. In fact, much of this forum is vanilla phpBB, which leaves little room for heavy modifications. I mean, at least it's free...
