How do I make x2 stop throwing away the settings for the current folder when I change from dual to single pane? ->> ->> for settings that I only want right now and don't want to permanently save.
I repeat, I already know about Folder Settings > Save and saved custom folder sets. I don't want that.
Here's what I want: If I'm in dual pane and temporarily display the column Bit Rate, for example, (could be any column) and sort by that and then change to single pane I want that column and sort to remain, without saving it permanently. Or, same thing but with displaying thumbnails rather than certain columns.
Here's what happens instead: If I'm in dual pane and temporarily display the column Bit Rate (could be any column) and sort by that and then change to single pane, Bit Rate goes away and the column set sometimes reverts to default but often randomly to other sets that I maybe used a couple days ago but haven't since! Or, if I was in thumbnail view it changes to details.

on my version 6.2 it works correctly. The hidden dual pane looks the same when turned back on
maybe time for you to upgrade?

Re: Stop folder settings from disappearing when dual pane is turned off
Yeah, I installed 2.5.0.4 just to test, and it does seem to act a bit squirrelly when it comes to columns and switching between single/dual panes. The current version works as expected, so that bug didn't live to see the future.
(And having to wait 6.66 minutes just to "Continue in Trial Mode" to test this was torture. I could have conquered Polynesia in that time and still been home for dinner. I think licenses should be backwards compatible.
