it is an old computer without CDROM running XP. Somehow the registry got corrupted and wouldn't boot at all. Thankfully that computer had a dual boot win7 system I created long time ago for testing, and I was able to get in, access the restore points and get out a working registry and rescue the boxing day
basically if it wasn't for the dual boot that computer would be a door weight. All the rescue advise is "use your windows CD bla bla...". Even if I had a rescue cd, that computer doesn't have a CDrom. Create a bootable USB? good luck, even if your head isn't foggy from christmas drinking. So I'd have to say, hosanna to dual boot
