Icons in my toolbar dissapear.

Post by Sunapee »

I use a custom toolbar in E2 v3.0.0.5 on Windows 8.1

Often, when I leave my PC on overnight with E2 running the toolbar is void of icons when I come in in the morning. Not a showstopper, but annoying.

weird, what happens if you hide then re-show the toolbar? (right click on it for hide/show)

Good question! I have not tried it. To date I have been closing the application and re-opening it. I will certainly give it a shot the next time I see the issue and let you know.

Food for thought might be that one of the icons is a bookmark pointing to a UNC (\\domain\folder\folder) to a shared folder. Could that be causing the issue?

i don't think this bookmark icon is the issue, can you see the icon in the BOOKMARK menu?

More information: Closing and reopening the toolbar does not help. Also, you are correct the bookmarks are available under the menu when this happens.

Got it! This occurs after I access my desktop PC via remote desktop from another PC while E2 is running. When I close the remote session (not log out) and return to the Desktop PC E2 has lost most of its icons. I can consistently duplicate this on 2 different desktops.

Windows 10 is probably not going to make it into our environment anytime soon.
